The second keeno quilt was finished off in various waiting places
and has been put to good use by Lala with the cold weather.
Then we had a week at the beach. It was dodgy weather but nobody cared. There were sticks to be collected, bases to be made and BIG waves to surf.

I came back overnight for Round 3 of Keeno on the Monday. All I was surfing was the i-pad.

There has always been the annual search for cats' eye shells just like when I was a child on the same beach. Last year we found over a hundred! Of course they mysteriously disappear back to the beach the night before we leave. We blame the "beach possums".
How many middens do you really need next to the garage back home?
It was wonderful to be away and being anonymous for a week. Everybody was wearing beanies and it was good to blend in. Plus if you have to be sick it's better to look at this..

There was the year one little boy was too frightened to sleep until he got to the beach house, the year they pushed the three beds together and the four of them slept every night curled like puppies in the middle, the year we found the puffer fish that floated out the front for a week of pongy, stick poking heaven, the year Mum felt a little queasy and had forgotten the symptoms of morning sickness, the year we carried the three month old up and down the beaches in the magic red pouch, the year she first ran about on the sand, the year Mum was bald and Fishy got stitches at the Caloundra Base Hospital and, hopefully, the year everything was normal again..... Is it ever? Just another year, another link in the family history chain and we keep moving on.
