Georgia O'Keefe was one of the painters referred to. We like a bit of Georgia.
Here's one I prepared earlier on primed paper.
There's another in progress. I like to try a little feminization of the boney subjects. The boys were being a bit grittier with their desert tones.
I have never been much of a painter type but seem to be getting a bit addicted to it lately.
It makes my mouth water ....
and gave me a brain worm....
Here's to my first last child's namesake. Sing it Ella!
Does anyone sing as well as Ella now-a-days? Incredible woman.
ReplyDeleteI bet those art teachers hide behind cupboards muttering to each other "where the hell did that assistant come from?!" So good are your demonstrations!!
Nah! They are far too magnanimous for that. A good bunch indeed!
DeleteI grew up with my dad playing Ella and developed a love of her voice that lasted my whole life.
Love it. My brother in law loves to paint and draw things like this so i have grown to appreciate it. Love the feminine touch. You should "get into" painting more often. You are particularly good at it!
ReplyDeleteThere's no way it would happen at home. The mojo gets a good work out here though!
DeleteWe've just spent a few days in London and I real loved the National Gallery, to be able to get so close to such wonderful paintings felt so special. Some real talent here! :) x
ReplyDeleteI always loved the national portrait gallery in Trafalgar Square and the Tate.
DeleteLucky girl being so close!
Wowsie.
ReplyDeleteNot too creepy?
DeleteWell for someone who is not much of a painter-type, these are darn good Annie! Your first last child has a lovely namesake. Have a great weekend! x
