C-rock pots

Every year, I stand on our favourite beach, lens pointing down photographing the rock.

It is eternally fascinating  to me how the sea makes such perfect compositions in rock with shadow and texture and symmetry.

All the elements and principles of art right there at my feet perfectly joined and constructed by waves.

One day I will go back over all these photos of the rocks taken every year in the same place and print a couple  up big and black and white for a wall. I'm thinking above the bath to meditate on while I soak in more water.

Other people just want to climb on them. Edmund and Hillary and their sherpa will climb anything just because it is there.

We like to dress them in red on the beach so the helicopters can find them more easily should they decide to swim for the horizon.

 Rock monkeys!

  1. What an awesome looking rock! Just like an Armadillo, or so they tell me since I've never seen one for real... ;-)
What a lovely post you had about your visit to the beach and about all the years you've been there. Next year will be a different one! :-)

  4. I think i have that exact photo of that exact rock. Perhaps slightly stumpier more hoof like feet though. I am so glad you have the sea in your soul to carry you through this tough time. Feeling trivial whingeing about my kids with flu when you are on the hard drugs. take care. melxx

  6. Those rocks are amazing aren't they? They look almost carved by 'man'.

Do you think your cancer has made you more contemplative? I really get a lot from your view of the world and your appreciation of the moment.

I've said it before, you have an eye for seeing things that I would never see. Someone has given that wonderful gift to you.

  10. Water is like dogs, wherever it is going it takes the line of least resistance. Unlike red-clad rock monkeys who appear to choose the line of most resistance! Such an interesting breed ;)

  11. Another masterpiece that God creates in fascinating patterns just to make us happy .
I'm in awe of the one shaped like a bare foot.
One could imagine a giant titan walking there in a bygone age.
Congrats to Shorty for leading the pack skywards.

    1. It is interesting the different things we can all see in them. You see a foot and Enchanted sees a sliced shell. I see stitched leather. I must dig out some old ones from last year too.

  12. So nice that you were able to get away to the beach, there just isn't anything like being near the ocean, I am sure it recharged your energy and was a wonderful time for the "tribe" they looked like they had heaps of fun
One more Keeno done....one less to go, sometimes hair grows back differently, I wonder what yours will do ? When it is too warm for beanies, it will be time to show off some beautiful scarves, that can be the next op shop mission.
