Hi. It's Anna again -
Annie asked me to post this video for her this morning, but we have been out all day, and since so many comments have already been left on her last post, I thought Kermit and Debbie could have one of their own.
Annie tells me she always disliked this song because it was so soppy, but now it is SO relevant and she has changed her mind.
Here's praying that our rainbow connection will carry her safely through tomorrow's MRI and right home to her children in time for Easter.

Hello there. I almost managed to tandem blog on there but my fat fingers won't let me without tweezers and a microscope. The big Fella sent the proper version of kermy but I think Deborah Harry lends street cred. It was the bit about falling asleep knowing their are others out there who are connected to you that made it relevant. There's also the rainbow connection and the fact that Deborah's scary eye expressions indicate we may share the se prescription. Sing along now you toe-tally marvellous bunch!!!
ReplyDeleteOh Annie. Deborah Harry looked like she was channelling a hungry French chanteuse, with good old hapless Kermie destined to soon lose his little froggy legs. Very scary stuff. Roll your eyes if u must but I LOVE this soppy song. Childhood memories and years of school choir warbling are to blame.
DeleteI was wondering what Debbie was on! I think Walter's on it too ...

(Apols for the car ad this starts with but this version has the words on screen ;D )
Still got everything crossed for you Annie x
I LOVE this version! In fact it looks like Walter is 'shuffling' at one point. La Piggy has good breastage too which I am suddenly noticing everywhere. She and Deborah have a lot in common!
DeleteBig Fella to the rescue.
ReplyDeleteYes. Very appropriate.
I swear that man is a foot taller this week and he was already pretty tall. Maybe I just feel smaller.
DeleteHey there Miss Annie! How's the hospital food?
ReplyDeleteSending over a big Rainbow Wave to carry you home to your family for Easter...
All the best for today,
Gentle Hugs
Karen x
Thanks Karen. Make sure you schnookle that baby for me. Maternity is downstairs and I did a crazy lady saunter through there yesterday just sucking in the life force! Happy Easter!
DeleteI haven't heard that song before, but I tried to sing along. So much so that my son just came from his room to complain about the noise.
ReplyDeleteHugging you, Annie, all the way from Norway.
((( Lilli )))
Children of the70's and 80's who survived Muppet exposure have that song embedded in their psyche. You somehow escaped it! Did you get your new home? I have lost track. You live in such a beautiful place. Channel me some Norway, Lilli. X
DeleteI sang it for you, along with Blondie....and thought of rainbows and you while I was at it....hope you are home very soon ....x Suzanne
ReplyDeleteI have a vague memory of Debbie Harry bungy jumping topless somewhere in Australia like the Harbour Bridge. She did have two breasts, lucky crazy eyed punk!
DeleteYou have more rainbows on this blog and in your room than a Mardi Gras parade, girl! I trust that the strength & solidarity they represent will bring similar healing. :) PS Michael says hi.
ReplyDeleteThere's a lot in that solidarity thing, Ms Linda and tell Mike to wing it over here for the afternoon!
DeleteHere's sending you rainbows and hugs from Tennessee, United States. I love this song and think it is very appropriate. I hope you are home for Easter to be with your family.
ReplyDeleteMe too Grammy, hopefully minus a drain and plus some good news. I'm milking the whole Easter thing here- new life, etc!!!
DeleteGot all my rainbow toes crossed for you that your scan brings good news and you are home soon. Being a 70's child myself this song feels just like home, remember that crazy miss Piggy/Kermit relationship? I fear miss Piggy was one of my role models! melx
ReplyDeleteShe was my favourite although I believe her spousal abuse has been curtailed by p.c. Puppeteers!
ReplyDeleteI have been looking at your blog for a while now and just love it. You are such a great person, an inspiration and a wonderful Mum. Annie, you bring so much joy to all of us who read your blog. I know this might sound crazy, but I feel that I know you so well and you are a kindred spirit. You have been in my thoughts over the past couple of weeks and I wish you all the luck, good fortune and everything else everyone has said. You are such a special person. Looking for all the rainbows in the sky and sending all the colours of the rainbow to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteHello, hope all is well.
ReplyDeleteI must say that Deborah sometimes looks at Kermit as if he's a generous helping of 'Green Leaf Material' ... she stares at him and gets all dazed-looking.
