Rainbow connection

I salute you all, rainbow warriors, tiny and tall, boys and girls, old and young. You have carried me on wings of kindness, love and hope through a maelstrom I could never have imagined. I feel humbled by the pure goodness that exists all over this planet and have felt a great shift as my heart opened to embrace you all. Family, friends, strangers you are the proof that this is truly a wonderful world worth fighting hard to stay in. I have been quiet in my shock and drugs and grief because I just didn't know what to say! You have made me laugh aloud on days when I couldn't speak. There's just one more little hurdle with an MRI on Saturday. Please keep your prayers, chants, light and positive energy flowing because it helps more than you can know. The force is strong in this one! Love to you all, from a small bright room in the Wesley Hospital.
Annie x.

    1. Everyone has been hugging me very gently this week. It makes me feel quite small and precious which is a bit different but kind of nice!

  3. Hey! You did it! The fact that you can learn this newfangled tech stuff while being totally full of drugs is pretty impressive. Everything is crossed (as per usual) for Saturday... I'm getting used to these rainbow toes...

  10. Hey you !!! UK Annie smiles HUGE grin at Aussie Annie :D What I actually wanted to do was be vaguely amusing and type a Star Wars quote right back at you - "I sense something, a presence I've not felt since ... a week ago Tuesday" - but I couldn't hold the grin in. Good to 'hear' your voice rainbow lady, I've got my rainbow toes crossed for Saturday xxx

    1. I am going to watch the three old Star Wars with my kids again next week. It is necessary for my recovery! You will now be subjected to Star Wars quotes from here to where no man has gone before. That and Anna's Arrested Development boxed set should do the trick!

  12. Hi Annie, good to read your words and hear the hope that you are feeling. You have inspired a rainbow of hope and I have been getting around Samoa with my rainbow toes. I will post the photos today, yesterday I had a leg wax and the beautician suggested if you are all well now then it is time to fix my toes, she said they looked like I had coloured them in with a crayon! I am keeping them for now as we wait with hope as you jump the next hurdle. I have a village of girls painting their toes and they are all trotting off to church this weekend with your symbol of hope leading them to prayer. love you lots. Julie

    2. I'm sure you are the resident trend setter Miss Julie! There could be a painting in this. What do you think? Glad to hear the village is on board as a wise friend recently told me ' it takes a village' even a global one. Xxx

  14. Hello,
I think of you every day, even the eldest will sporadically say something to me like, "I hope Annie'll be okay". So there are a lot of people thinking of you that you don't even know. Keep up the strength. All the best for the MRI on Saturday. I could just imagine your hospital room ... though Ron & Brian will be lamenting the drop in sales while you've been incommunicado.

    1. Ron am Brian are going to be on my list of "going for a drive to my normal places to prove everything is still the same". Ron has had his own fight with the big C of late. Let's hope he is there waiting for my donations (of redundant bras!)

  22. After I painted my toes and those of my youngest daughter (who happens to be 3 years old) my other children wanted to know what we were doing. I explained as best as I could in a way that they would understand. My eldest daughter joined in with the painting. My 8 year old son decided to remove his black nail polish (coloured toes are the norm for our children) and his father kindly repainted them rainbow. My 6 year old son chose to keep his blue glitter polish untouched. In our own ways we have all been touched by your story. Thank you for being so open and in turn letting us open our hearts to you. All the best for Saturday and the day after that and the day after that ..........
