Just routine stuff today. After dropping more childer clothing off at the oppy I left with a few articles again. It's more of an exchange really except I spend money.
My favourite was this perfect piece of aqua Basdonware. It is the perfect colour and pristine!
Then there was the quick linen rummage producing a fresh yellow apron with an enormous front pocket,
and a selection of linen tea towels. Some are vintage, some I suspect not. There are some "bad buggers" and kangaroos on them too.
Some will make great present wrapping for some Christmas presents I have planned.
That may sound very organised but remember I have eight brothers and sisters and five children so Christmas is a big job.
Others may go towards some new cushions I want to make.
There was a small one of Noumea with all the place names written in French. I thought I had bought it but can't find it. There will be op shop regrets about that one.
To top it all off, there was a little piece of Carnival glass. Another gift I think!
Hi there! Love that sugar bowl. I've started a new job and have let the blogging slip. I'm struggling to find time to read blogs at the moment and I'm really missing it. Hope you're feeling well, lovely Annie. I'll try and pop in. Claire xxx
ReplyDeleteOh how I look forward to having a job and income again. So pleased to hear you're chugging along doing okay. Do keep in touch!
DeleteThat little aqua sugar bowl is so sweet, great score
ReplyDeleteGreat name, Zippy Zippy!
DeleteBonza little beaut Aussie tea towels.
ReplyDeleteGotta love a bit of Australiana!
DeleteNice little bounty there Annie. I did a spot of op-shopping on the weekend too :-) Have never thought of linen tea towels for wrapping - what a great idea! xx
ReplyDeleteI may have to iron them and suspect I will have trouble parting with a couple! I'm assembling little hampers of goodies for some of my special girlfriends. They're easy. It's my kids I can't think of things for...
DeleteThat sugar bowl is lovely Annie.
ReplyDeleteI went to 13 op-shops on Saturday, to help a friend hunt for vintage sheets (she's starting a little handmade frock shop). My friend found 21 beautiful sheets. I found one, single, solitary, lonely little t.t. (and nothing special at that) so I reckon you hit the t.t. jackpot.
What's a "bad bugger"?
Oops. I should have added a link to explain but it's there now if you want to have a wee look.
DeleteWhat an exchange. You did very well.
ReplyDeleteLove the colour of the sugar bowl and of course the t.towels.
x
I never see Basdonware any more. My grandma had a yellow one the same shape as this but I love the aqua too.
DeleteI'm jealous. I want to go to an oppy. However I think the return fare from Turkey to Oz might not make it a cost-efective trip.
ReplyDeleteAh but you have access to all those great flea markets and other Turkish goodies!
